The new Turbofan 4000 was designed for use in large electric ducted-fan (EDF) models such as the Rafale,(Aeronaut)  for which maximum flight performance and scale appearance are equally important. The new unit extends the top end of the existing range of aero-naut impellers, i.e. it offers even higher performance. This high-power fan unit is made entirely of carbon, and its compact installed dimensions and light weight eliminate the need to omit vital scale features such as retracts on EDF models.
